At Sooke Removal and Hauling, we operate a local disposal yard that also offers junk removal services and full-service bin rentals. We are an integral part of our local community and our customers are not just customers to us, but also our friends and neighbours.

**Please note** **that this is a hybrid driving and labour position, and therefore can be physically demanding at times. **Please be certain before applying, that you are comfortable and able to lift heavy objects (repeatedly as necessary), sort/organize a variety of materials and maintain an efficient and fast pace while doing so.

**Job Requirements**:

- 18+ years of age (for insurance reasons)
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license (Also having airbrakes endorsement is a plus, but NOT a requirement for this position)
- Experienced in driving manual transmission vehicles
- Excellent driver, with a minimum of 1-2 years driving experience and a good driver’s abstract
- Punctual, reliable, efficient, hard-working, with a great attitude
- Excellent customer service and a willingness to assist our valued clients
- Physically fit (able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly) and not afraid of hard work
- Able to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
- Able to adapt quickly to the task at hand and to work efficiently and flexibly in a dynamic environment
- Mechanical knowledge advantageous

**Daily duties will include**:

- Completing Junk removal service calls - Driving company trucks to/from jobs, loading/unloading items, taking payment
- Dump runs - loading and cleaning up at the yard, driving to the dump, unloading and returning
- Hauling/Moving - picking-up, transporting and dropping-off of items for clients, with care and respect for their property (if moving)
- Raking, lifting, loading/unloading and any other general labour work required to operate the yard or complete a service call

**Position Details**:

- **Hiring Immediately** for Full-Time (4-5 days/week), Part-Time (2-3 days/week), Weekends
- **Pay: $25/hr (After a 90 day training and probationary period
- $22/hour to start)**. Pay increases & opportunities to advance will be available in the future, based on performance.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
