Commercial Furniture Carpenter

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**
The Commercial Furniture Carpenter position is responsible for a wide range of duties at Unique Contract Interiors (UNCI). Majority of the work will be cutting, laminating, and assembling pieces of furniture for our commercial projects but other duties may be asked upon you as well, depending on your abilities as you grow. It is essential that efficiency, quality and consistency meets our standards for our clients. Key responsibilities, competencies and qualifications are as follows.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Be in close communication with others in the shop to improve efficiency and communication lines.
- Communicate with UNCI management as required for timelines, building practices, or project related questions.
- Read and understand the shop drawings provided to you and execute them to their intent.
- Understand schedules and timelines to complete work tasks asked of you.
- Be capable of adapting and learning new skills.
- Operate machinery in a safe manner such as the CNC, table saw, mitre saw, routers, and other power tools.
- As required, travel to sites at times to assist with installations or site measurements.
- Maintain a clean and organized working area.
- Create cut lists to maximize yields of plywood and materials.
- Assemble parts together in a timely manner to create the finished product.
- Maintain proper care for the tools and equipment.
- Potential other duties depending on your abilities; prep, upholstery, loading, installations.

**Tools and Equipment Used**
Employee needs to be know how to use the following:
- Air Tools
- Hand Tools
- Power Tools
- Power Saws
- Adhesives
- CNC
- Tape Measure
Employee needs to meet occupational health and safety regulations and wear the appropriate safety equipment while on site or in the back shop floor:
- Steel Toe Boots (REQUIRED on Shop Floor and Applicable Job Sites)
- Industrial Gloves, Eye Protection, Hard Hat (As Directed for Projects on Shop Floor)
**Qualifications Required**
- Building or carpentry experience
- Ability to work with your hands and have physical endurance to stand for periods of time and lift heavy items solo - up to 75 lbs.
- High School/GED Education
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Communicate with colleagues and management
- Read, write & speak english clearly
- Positive attitude, motivated, & willing to Learn
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
