Crusher/equipment Operator

The Crusher Operator will be required to operate and maintain various crushing equipment within our operations. This position involves operating an impact crusher, and several conveyors, while ensuring the safe and efficient processing of concrete or asphalt grindings through the crushing circuit. The Crusher Operator will be responsible for feeding material into the crushing system, ensuring proper material sizing and while maintaining area housekeeping.
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Operation of Crushing Equipment**:
- Operate and monitor the impact crusher and conveyors
- Must be able to work safely
- Must be able to operate front end loader, excavator and skid steer
- Ensure smooth and continuous feeding of material into the crusher
- Monitor and adjust the crusher settings to achieve the desired material size and quality
- Will be required to complete daily inspections and reporting of production
- Willing to travel to job locations and work in remote areas
**Pre-Operation Inspections & Maintenance**:
- Perform pre-operational checks on all equipment, including crushers, conveyors and feeders
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and equipment is in proper working condition
- Conduct minor troubleshooting and maintenance tasks as required and report any major issues to maintenance teams or supervisor**Cleaning and Housekeeping**:
- Perform regular cleaning or crusher, conveyors and surrounding areas to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by disposing of materials in designated areas
**Reporting & Documentation**:
- Maintain accurate records of material production, equipment, performance and any operational issues
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding equipment malfunctions or any concerns
**Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any safety hazards or violations promptly to supervisors
- Keep equipment clean and well-maintained to minimize downtime and prevent system failures
**Additional Duties**:
- Operate excavator with various attachments including but not limited to, bucket, hammer and pulverizer
- Perform other related tasks as required to support operations and ensure optimal performance
- Assist with training new employees on system operations, safety procedures, and best practices as needed
**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training in a related field is a plus)
- Previous experience operating crushers, feeders, conveyors, or similar equipment in a mining or aggregate environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in mining or heavy equipment operations
- G Drivers Licence required with good record
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- This position is based in an industrial work environment that includes noise, dust and weather conditions
- The operator will work in rotating shifts, including weekends and nights, depending on the operational schedule
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots, is required
- Work may be required outside of regular hours, as per business needs
- The physical requirements of this position include reading, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, repetitive motions, stooping, balancing, pushing, pulling and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
