**EIPS invites applicants for two temporary First Nations, Métis and Inuit Cultural and Curriculum Consultants, Supports for Students (SFS).**

**Key Responsibilities**:
As the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Cultural and Curriculum Consultant, you will:
1. Foster Relationships/Directly Support Staff:

- Establish, deepen and continue connections with community Elders and Knowledge Holders, which can include involvement in various Division activities, including some evenings and weekends.
- Represent EIPS at provincial advisory councils (PAC) including, but not limited to ATA wîcihtotân gatherings, and ARPDC Indigenous Education Collaborative Learning Community.
- Develop and implement culturally relevant Division-wide programming to support success and well-being of Indigenous students, including some evenings and weekends.
- Work directly with self-identified First Nations, Métis or Inuit students in the school and their community.

2. Fund Allocation:

- Advise the Division on acquisition of culturally relevant, authentic and appropriate education resources to support curricular learning outcomes K-12. Work with school leads and administrators to supervise the implementation of First Nations, Métis and Inuit annual school project proposals with all Division schools.
- Oversee, approve, and manage First Nations, Métis and Inuit annual school project proposals with all Division schools.

3. Support Educational Initiatives and Curriculum changes:
Develop and maintain initiatives to increase and strengthen ethical space in schools that continue to build respectful relationships with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students, families, and communities.- Develop and facilitate professional development to enhance staff's foundational knowledge of Indigenous knowledges, worldviews, cultures and perspectives for the benefit of all students and families.
- Design and initiate division-wide projects, workshops, events and/or celebrations (i.e. National Indigenous Peoples Day, culture camps, family nights, round dance) that develop innovative and creative programming to meet the individual needs of multiple schools.
- Critically assess and revamp Division resources to reflect the changing curriculum while maintaining authentic Indigenous voice.
- Support teachers and schools to critically assess and include authentic, appropriate materials and resources to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit curricular learning outcomes.

4. Work Toward Truth and Reconciliation:

- Support the learning experiences of K-12 students by identifying, selecting, and creating high quality culturally responsive resources that accurately reflect and demonstrate the strength, diversity and worldviews of First Nations, Métis and Inuit.

This position will require travel to all areas of EIPS.

**Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor degree in Education
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
- Fluency/journey to learning an Indigenous language is an asset.
- Land-based learning education experience is an asset.
- Experience in curriculum or resource development K-12 is an asset
- Lived experience of Indigenous ways of knowing and being, and the histories and experiences of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, particularly the Treaty 6 area.
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous students, families, Elders and community members.
- Created and facilitate effective professional development for staff to build capacity and understanding.
- Experience coordinating large scale cultural workshops, events, or celebrations.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes**:

- Strong collaborator, capable of managing multiple roles and demands.
- Deep understanding of First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives and cultures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various community and educational stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including flexibility, patience, sensitivity, tolerance, enthusiasm, creativity, and imagination.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency in various technological platforms.
