**Eligibility Statement**
To apply, students must be enrolled in either a four-year undergraduate program or a Masters, or Phd program at a university or accredited education institution in Canada. Students must also be already located in or willing to relocate to Vancouver for the duration of the internship. You must have at least completed your 2nd (undergrad) year prior to the start of the internship program. A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.2 is strongly recommended and official transcripts may be requested to validate your eligibility.

**About the Role**
At Highspot, our interns work on projects that Invent the Future and your team will rely on your skills and insights to Make it Happen. This is a unique chance to bring your unique skills, knowledge, and ideas to life while working on enabling the maturity of a new generation of cybersecurity protecting the Highspot platform and organization. You will be on the front lines of innovation developing capabilities focused on building solutions as Highspot evolves to fortify and safeguard against threat actors.
The internship is designed for you to do hands-on meaningful work and an opportunity to learn and grow. You'll foster one of our guiding principles: Learn it all, not know it all. While you’re making it happen, you’ll also experience our diverse community employee resource groups, senior staff engagement, and participate with like-minded engineering and security professionals.
Projects vary depending on business needs, experience, and/or location. You’ll work closely during your internship with our People team, hiring manager, and crew buddy to help you with your day-to-day.

**What You Will Learn**:
- The Highspot security team focuses on helping you to develop your security skills and capabilities by having you shadow or lead key security projects. You’ll be immersed in the day to day operations of our Corporate Security team to help make sure you exit the internship knowing how to be an effective member of a security team. The list below will give you a sample of projects you may be involved in, we will make sure your projects align with your skills and interests.
**What You Will Do**:
- Below is a sample of some of the projects or work that you might participate in. We do a good job of prioritizing our work, but there is always the opportunity for a new project to come along.
- Build, maintain, optimize, and deploy security capabilities that support security operations to drive the adoption of a safer and more resilient enterprise environment.
- Analyze various security events, anomalies, behaviors and configurations across multiple platforms and leverage your analysis to drive the implementation and adoption of better security practices.
- Conduct research to understand our current posture, identify gaps, emerging trends, and new capabilities that may address these gaps. Provide feedback to security leadership, and develop proposals to influence the operational, tactical, and strategic Corporate Security capabilities.
- Collaborate on ways to improve the Corporate Security function and inherent capabilities.
- Champion the team’s mission and regularly communicate/collaborate with internal business units and stakeholders outside of the security organizational structure.
- Foster relationships between internal security organizations, product teams, and non-technical teams as a security champion to provide security consultation as they develop product features, infrastructure, workflows, and processes.
**What You Will Bring**:
- Strong foundational Security knowledge (Theoretical Terms, Best Practices, Threats and Mitigations)
- Proficiency in at least one (Not Necessarily All) of the following areas - Network Operations, Security Operations, Operating System Administration (MacOS, Windows, and Linux) Cloud Services, SaaS Security Vulnerability Management
