Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of coronary arteries with both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

If you would like to be a part of our growing and talented team that is making a difference in healthcare, we are currently looking for an engineer to design safe and effective imaging products with optical systems at Conavi that can be efficiently manufactured in alignment with Quality and Regulatory standards and business objectives.

In this position, you will:

- Participate in full-cycle Design and Development of optical systems and subsystems for use in catheter based medical imaging products including hardware, imaging probes, signal processing algorithms
- Drive improvements to existing products and development of new features
- Assist with design and optimization of RF signal chain for ultrasound based imaging systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional team including Hardware Design, Catheter Design, Software development, Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality/Regulatory to ensure the development of devices or systems that meet market needs
- Develop, execute, and report on design and verification level testing and simulation.
- Support product design changes within the Conavi Quality Management Systems (QMS) (e.g. specification updates, change notifications)
- Develop test jigs and fixtures to assist with the assembly and/or testing of the product
- Collaborate with the Verification and Validation (V&V) team to ensure the product is properly tested in satisfaction of the device requirements
- Identify and engage vendors for the materials and subsystems required in the design of devices
- Participate in opportunities to develop and disseminate a current knowledge of medical devices and technologies
- Participate in, and adhere to, health & safety initiatives and requirements

Your qualifications include:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- Graduate Degree with focus on Optics preferred
- Hands-on experience with Optical Coherence Tomography including hardware and signal processing concepts
- Proven medical device design experience is an asset
- Experience working with Optical simulation and modelling tools and numerical computing / programming tools preferred
- Experience with ultrasound imaging systems or RF signal optimization an asset
- An understanding and appreciation for manufacturing under ISO13485 or ISO9001 and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) requirements
- Experience with ISO14971, IEC60601 and IEC60825 is an asset
