Site Service Technician

Benson Cabinetry & Millwork produces cabinetry for multi-residential developments. The cabinets are manufactured on the South Island, though the position in question is on the Lower Mainland.
Reporting to the Field Foreman, the Site Service Technician is responsible to assist in all levels from install to adjustments and repair in order to complete the project without any defects in our cabinetry.
The site service person will be allocated to one or more multi-residential buildings that have cabinetry partially or wholly installed. The Field Foreman will direct work via our tracking app for adjustments, touch up and repairs. The Field Foreman may direct other tasks such as inspections, the moving/picking up of parts and supplies and or tracking work as required. The overarching measure of success is the successful delivery of the building and cooperation with the team.
The Site Service person will have cabinetry knowledge, installation knowledge and demonstrate experience on multi-residential job sites in the realm of inspections, deficiency correction, hardware installation and adjustment and exceptional ability to give and receive communication and feedback.
In the absence of service work, the Site Service person may be assigned other site-related tasks as delegated by the Field Foreman.
The job is physical in nature and requires the ability to both navigate an elevator-free multi-residential job site (multiple flights of stairs, multiple times per day), but also be able to lift and move cabinets and cabinetry components when required. Some installation and repair require reaching above head, bending, kneeling and positions other than sit/stand for multiple times per day. This position requires full time-use of steel toed boots. A valid driver’s license is required. Numeracy, literacy, and technical skills will be tested.. The site service person typically works standard site hours, which float between 0700-1600, depending on the job site/season.
**Qualifying Requirements**
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English
- Proven experience in correcting and tracking deficiencies
- Post-Secondary in a relevant field or equivalent multi-residential job site experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Has experience in cabinetry installation or repair
- Ability to use computers (expert
- Outlook, Excel), laptops and hand-held devices
- Must be able to read plans & shop drawings
- Working knowledge of the BC Builder’s Code and Site Safety procedures considered an asset
