Currently, we are looking to add experienced **Site Foremen(Women) **to our team for work on our South-Island based projects. The Site Foreperson would lead the daily site operations as a member of the "working" crew and work closely with the General Superintendent and/or the Project Manager. **_Duties & Responsibilities: _** - Direct, organize, coordinate and control of all day to day site activities related to the crew, equipment, and assigned scope of work. - Collaborate with the GC, project management team, suppliers, and subtrades to ensure all aspects of the project proceed as planned. - Daily employee time card, equipment usage, and production entry using Heavy Jobs HCSS Field App. - Supervision and responsibility for safety, quality, and protection of the environment for the assigned work by way of daily start cards & safety meetings, weekly toolbox talks, safety inspections, project hazard assessments. - Read and interpret drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to your crew. - Work with the project management team to plan ahead and ensure that all materials, equipment, and resources are in place ahead of the work. - Act as a working Foreperson to lead from the front lines, direct the work and be with your crew the majority of your time. - Coordinating with superintendents, project managers, and inspectors. - Organizing deliveries and subcontractors. - Conduct site safety orientations and weekly safety meetings with sub-trades. - Review on site work to confirm that project is being built as per drawings, specifications, code and ensure that all finishes are to the company’s and industry standards. - Responsible for field documentation such as daily logs, conducting daily safety inspections and other required reports. - Ensure the implementation of the Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the job site and adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements. - Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts. **_Requirements_** - Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience, - Extensive knowledge of various construction disciplines including earthworks, grading, site servicing including water/sanitary/storm, subdivisions, hydro/tel PMT/ducting, excavation and backfill of structures, and road construction, - Previous experience in civil pipe laying, - Fluent in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, - Heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, dozers, and backhoes, - Ability to organize and prioritize work accordingly, - Strong verbal and communication skills, - Highly organized with excellent time management skills, - Ability to exercise good judgment and show initiative, - Self-motivated and dependable with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, - Understanding of MMCD, supplementary specifications, and typical civil testing requirements, - Safety orientated attitude, **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company car - Dental care - Disability insurance - Extended health care - Life insurance - RRSP match - Vision care - Wellness program Schedule: - 10 hour shift - Monday to Friday - Overtime Supplemental pay types: - Overtime pay Ability to commute/relocate: - Victoria, BC V9B 6W6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - Civil Construction: 5 years (required) Licence/Certification: - Canadian Drivers License (required)
