Arborist Apprentice

DC Tree Services is currently hiring arborist apprentices. We are looking for men and women who are interested in building a career in arboriculture. First year apprentices will be learning and completing safe operation of a chipper, job site set up, site cleanup, how to tie knots, chainsaw safety, and to assist the arborist. Second year apprentices will move into operating a stump grinder, deep root fertilizing, root barrier installation, chainsaw tree felling and bucking skills. Third year apprentices will be learning pruning skills, aerial rescue and intro to spur/spurless climbing, and aerial lift truck operations. Fourth year apprentices will be practicing tree pruning and tree removals from an aerial lift truck and climbing.

This is a learn at your own pace program. Experience and drivers licence is a plus. Compensation for this position is $20 to $27 per hour. Benefits include training, education, medical / dental coverage
