**Responsibilities**:

- Receive cross-training to support both the Dining Services and Facilities Management teams at Kingswood University
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- General cleaning, including, but not limited to: trash removal; sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming floors; buffing floors; disinfecting; stripping and waxing floors; window washing etc.
- Ensure all chemicals and cleaners are properly stored in accordance with WHMIS and HSE guidelines
- Attend all safety meetings and participate in client and/or Aramark emergency response procedures
- Contribute to positive workplace culture by helping to train new hires; participating in team activities and events
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service experience considered an asset
- 1+ years janitorial experience considered an asset
- Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
