**Dinosaur Provincial Park (DPP)**: is located 48km NE of Brooks, Alberta and is rich in cultural and natural heritage. This UNESCO World Heritage Site attracts visitors from all over the world to experience the landscape of the badlands, its rich fossil resources, and the riparian habitat. Onsite, fully furnished accommodations may be available for rent. The staff at Dinosaur Provincial Park Service Centre & Café provide general park information and campground booth services, operate the camp store, and provide the food services of the café *Experience in food service and Food Safety Certification may be required for this position.
**Role**:
Service Centre Attendants are often the first point of contact for visitors to Alberta Parks thus set the tone for all interactions within parks.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the day-to-day operations of facilities that may include Visitor Centres, campground booths, and cafes or camp stores.
Daily tasks typically include reception duties, information services, campground check-ins and compliance checks, and performing till/ point-of-sales functions and close-outs.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Some high school education with preference for some related retail or food service experience
**Additional Requirements**:
- Current WHMIS is required upon commencement
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and current Defensive Driving Course (3 years or newer) is desired and may be required (Driver’s Abstract may also be required)
**Assets**:
- Current Food Safety Certificate is desirable and may be required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing clear and accurate information to park visitors
- Outgoing, friendly, and professional personality that enjoys working with the public and contributing to a positive team atmosphere
- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift heavy objects
- Experience with customer service, retail operations and computerized point of sale systems
- Knowledge of Dinosaur Provincial Park and other local area Provincial Parks, local area tourism opportunities and services, as well as regional and provincial tourism opportunities
- Experience in food preparation, safe food handling, and/or the food service Industry
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR level C + AED training and may be required upon commencement

**Salary**:
Based on an 8-hr. work shift and up to 40 hrs. per week),
$18.45 - $22.32 per hour
Shift premiums as applicable
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings
Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of paid holidays and vacation leave.
- 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
