We're looking for a **full-time Assembler**, **who uses a variety of tools and equipment to assemble mechanical components into finished products, who is comfortable reading the specifications in a lighting manufacturing environment and is a team player
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Read and follow basic wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material as well as other written procedures to accurately assemble components into finished products.
- Position, align, fasten, and install wiring and electrical/electronic components to form assemblies or subassemblies.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, pliers, hammers, and other essential tools after specific training.
- Help move finished products into the quality control area for testing purposes.
- Identify product defects or issues with assembly processes and report to lead hand or supervisors.
- Assist other assemblers, lead hand or supervisors as needed.
- Rework assembled components and products according to engineering specified modifications.
- Perform work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area. Assembly station and surrounding must be left clear each day when tasks are completed.
- Use protective gear such as goggles, safety shoes, anti-static wristbands etc’.
- Assist, when necessary, with functionality testing of finished products and packaging of finished products
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of mechanical assembly or relevant prior experience is an asset.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions as well as wiring diagrams.
- Speed and accuracy for performing repetitive tasks.
- A high level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Self motivation skills.
- Good written and verbal English language skills.
**Physical demands and Abilities**:
- Must be able to lift and move boxes of up to 15lbs.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to put parts together quickly and accurately.
