Cumberland County Hospice Palliative Care Society (CCHPCS) is excited to announce that they are seeking a position to support the development and coordination of grief resourcing for Cumberland County communities.

**Planning and System Performance.**
- Develops, implements and evaluates Grief Support Group Services
- Provides leadership and oversight to Grief Support Group Services offered by CCHPCS in Cumberland County.
- Supports the development of an effective and efficient Grief Support Group Services structure which meets the goals and objectives of CCHPCS.
- Develops appropriate policies and procedures for Grief Support Services in collaboration with Northern Zone Grief Group Coordination.
- Develops and implements innovative practices in collaboration with Northern Zone Grief Coordinators on current trends and best practices.

**Quality Service Delivery**
- Recruits and supports appropriate volunteers to Grief Support Group Services.
- Ensures that Grief Support Group volunteers are properly screened and prepared for work with adults through a Facilitated Peer Led model
- Acts as a resource and primary contact for CCHPCS Grief Support Group Services volunteers.
- Develops a process - documentation to screen participants for Grief Support Group.
- Supports the creation of Pathways, with the NZ Grief team for complex case support
- Establishes collaborative relationships with all partners involved in community based grief
- Works with Volunteer Coordinator to support Grief Support Group volunteer tools, processes and services, including tracking of volunteer hours.
- Provides support to Grief Support Group volunteers.
- Creation of safety plans for off-site groups, as well as leadership for CCHPCS incident reporting
- Ensures concerns or issues related to Grief support Group volunteer action are assessed, documented and addressed in an appropriate manner.
- Evaluation of Grief Support and develop systems that address survey results, support to facilitators.
- Organization of data - E.g. # of referrals to Grief Support Sessions, attendance at sessions, Volunteer training hours, # of surveys received, etc.

**Engagement, Visible Leadership, Partnerships and Relationships**
- Works with Hospice Society Coordinator, and together, liaises with the Northern Zone Grief Coordinators and other partners
- Develops and enhances community partnership conducive to CCHPCS Grief Support Group Services and volunteer roles.
- Facilitates communication between volunteers group facilitators
- Participates in public education on the Grief Support Group Services.

**Talent Development and Employee Engagement**
- Acts as an advocate on behalf of CCHPCS Grief Support Group Services.
- Provides adequate education, supervision and feedback for Grief Support Services Volunteers.

**Financial Stewardship and Accountability**
- Collects data and analyses budget to support and sustain regular and ongoing education of the Grief Support Group Services.
- Ensures finances are managed appropriately in collaboration with Hospice Society Coordinator.

**Knowledge & Education**
- Masters in Social Work (MSW) is preferred or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) with significant experience will be considered.
- Facilitator Group Volunteer management and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Education in grief/bereavement.
- Training and experience in Group Facilitation.
- Baccalaureate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered (with conditions) if you express willingness to learn.

**Competencies**
- Prior experience with groups, facilitating and supervising is preferred.
- Experience with program development and implementation.
- Commitment to the philosophy and principles of CCHPCS.
- Skilled and experienced adult education and group work facilitation is preferred.
- Excellent administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite of Programs
- Knowledge of quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including negotiating and change management skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.

**Job Requirements**
- Contract position (350 hrs), flexibility with organizational needs to be determined
