**_This is a temporary assignment which is expected to last for approximately six (6) up to no later than twelve (12) months._**

**Position Summary**:
A floor ambassador is stationed at main entrances, or at key locations within floors, and are available to employees, physicians, learners as well as patients and visitors. In this role, a floor ambassador is proactively greeting patients and visitors and supporting wayfinding throughout the floor. In times where access points on the floor may fluctuate due to redevelopment activities (or other), the Floor Ambassador will provide clear directions to patients and visitors to support wayfinding to clinics and offices.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Be familiar with the clinics and services situated on the floor, and their respective locations.
- Keep apprised of any corridors impacted by redevelopment activities and the recommended alternate routes of access.
- Ensure wayfinding instructions are accurate and have been adapted to reflect revised pathways.
- Promote a positive patient experience for patients and visitors.
- Collaborate with the signage and wayfinding team members to ensure patient needs are met.
- Facilitate accessing a wheelchair for patients if mobility/accessibility is a concern.
- Actively participate in process improvements and offer feedback and suggestions regarding wayfinding as the redevelopment activities evolve.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem-solving in difficult situations or if unable to respond to questions.
- Escalate concerns or issues in a timely manner to the relevant department.
- Perform other duties consistent with the position, as required.
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent from a recognized educational institution.
- A minimum of one (1) year of recent and related customer service experience preferably working within a large and complex healthcare environment.
- Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered.
- Proven commitment to high quality customer service with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and prioritization skills.
- Strong work ethic, professional, diplomatic and dependable with the demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements.
- Skilled at setting priorities and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven ability to make decisions, exercise judgment and take initiative in dealing with employees, physicians, learners, contractors, patients and visitors.
- Flexible with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking and dynamic environment.
- Ability to sit, walk and stand to effectively perform essential requirements of this position.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position.
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
