- As an Operations Supervisor for Water Treatment, you will lead, motivate, and direct your staff during times of change and uncertainty. You will demonstrate continual growth through education to further develop leadership skill. Primary duties include:

- Create and support shared leadership activities designed to promote and advance an integrated asset management approach to plant operations.
- Lead and encourage efforts to continually improve business practices and processes to maximize business unit resources and achieve operational efficiencies and excellence.
- Provide strategic direction on capital projects and in setting long range targets to achieve results that produce an ample supply of drinking water to citizens.
- Ensure that Alberta Environment and Protected Areas as well as The City of Calgary's Approval to Operate requirements related to drinking water are satisfied.
- Provide oversight for the daily activities required to run and maintain operations.
- Supervise both Local 709 Foremen and Local 37 Plant Operators within the guidelines of the collective agreements and plan, schedule and coordinate staff that provides 24-hour operational services.
- Ability to engage, develop and coach and create a line of sight that links results with the division's contributions to the departmental objectives and Council priorities.

**Qualifications**
- A completed 2 year diploma in Water Treatment or a related field with at least 8 years of related experience.
- Possess and maintain Alberta (or provincial equivalent) Environment and Parks certification in Water & Wastewater Operator Level 4.
- Consideration given to applicants who possess Water Treatment Operator Level 3 with a requirement to obtain and maintain Water Treatment Level 4 certification within 1 year.
- Demonstrate strong abilities in decision making, leadership, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships, engaging teams to deliver results and a willingness to continually learn and develop.

**Working Conditions**:The position will rotate through Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Glenmore WTP and Transmission System approximately every 2 years.

**Pre-employment Requirements**
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
- Union: Exempt
Business Unit: Water Services
- Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 18 months)
Location: 1668 56 Avenue SW
- Compensation: Level E $83,059 - 125,413 per annum
- Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Non-standard 38 hour work week
