**Available Position: Accounting Clerk, Truro Location**

MacKay’s Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are currently seeking a permanent full-time Accounting Clerk to join our team in Truro, Nova Scotia. MacKay’s is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro & Dartmouth, Nova Scotia as well as Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We offer a fast paced, professional safe environment. MacKay’s provides employees with the most up to date manufacturers’ training and holds safety to the highest standards.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the general ledger and accounting software.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Post secondary diploma in accounting or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAGE, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
