Description:
Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Packaging Operator, Seasonal Relief, assists with all packaging operations in order to meet production and shipping schedules. Contracts are available from June until the beginning of September. Must be able to work rotating shifts, particularly Days/Afternoons. Schedule rotates on a 2-week basis. Hourly rate: $18.56 + applicable shift premiums.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate and assist in all packaging operations to meet production and shipping schedules
- Work in compliance with company and regulatory policies
- Report unusual incidents and accidents and assist in developing corrective measures
- Work closely with all departments and crew leaders to ensure that internal and external customers are being adequately serviced
- Assist in on-the-job training
- Maintain production documents
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation and area
- Other duties as required

Requirements:

- Must be over the age of 19
- Mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Working experience with high-speed packaging machine &/or fast-paced environment an asset
- Work rotational shifts
- Work in a fast-paced, high-decibel environment
- Stairs and ladder climbing; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Able to meet Packaging job requirements, including initiative, safety, housekeeping, attendance and productivity
