**About Us**:
The Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department is a government administered non-profit organization responsible for fire prevention, emergency response, and public safety within our district.
**Role Overview**:
As the Corporate Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the administration and management of Gabriola Fire Department. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you will oversee various administrative functions, financial operations, and governance matters.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Financial Management**:
- Prepare and manage the annual budget.
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Coordinate audits and financial reporting.
- **Governance and Compliance**:
- Provide guidance to the Board of Trustees on governance matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, bylaws, and policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Coordinate the annual Trustee election.
- **Administrative Support**:
- Manage administrative processes, including record-keeping, correspondence, and meeting coordination.
- Assist with human resources functions, such as payroll and personnel management.
- Coordinate public meetings and communications.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping.
- Experience in administration, preferably within a government related context.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of local government processes and regulations.
