**LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - PRE-PROCESSING (Food Lab)**

Our Campobello laboratory is a leading laboratory for analytical services and solutions to the energy, environmental & food industries. This position requires flexibility, ability to multitask, good communication & organisational skills and attention to detail to provide exceptional customer experience by supporting lab Operations.

As a **LABORATORY TECHNICIAN**, your main responsibilities are:
**To assist the overall operation of the Pre-processing Food department and to ensure all relevant procedures are followed. To sort and distribute samples using the Company programme and to provide general support in sample preparation and weighing of samples.**
- Follow SAIL and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- General lab support including sort and distribute, pre-processing & weighing of food samples.
- Ensure that cross contamination/labeling between samples and other materials does not occur.
- Homogenize various food samples using industrial sized blender/mixers or food processors.
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work.
- Prioritize jobs according to Rush and client specific deadlines.
- Retrieve samples required for reworks or customer/ lab requests.
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
- Keep their work area clean, neat and organized.
- Provide support to other members of the section.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

You are the ideal **Laboratory Technician **if:

- You possess a College Diploma.
- You have basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office & Outlook.
- You have a positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- You possess good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills.
- You are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- You are detail-oriented and possess good record keeping & organisational skills.
- You learn quickly.
- You must be able to handle various types of samples such as raw food, Seafood, nuts, all sorts of meats and finished food products etc.
- You are able to adapt to a changing environment.
- You must be flexible to work shifts and weekends
- You are able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
