**Description**

Barber Collins security is looking for a security guard who is flexible, reliable and dependable as these hours below are not set hours.

**MUST have access to your own personal vehicle as bus access is not available to the site.**

**Shifts**
- *Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation_

Must be able to commit to the assigned schedule consisting of:

- Be available to work 8 and/or 12 hour shifts of mostly over nights.
- Must be available weekdays/weeknights, weekends and statutory holidays.
- Must be extremely flexible and available.
- Approximately 20 hours per pay period (40 hours over 2 weeks)

**Responsibilities**:

- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Must be confident with computer technology and utilizing the different software established.
- Must be able to be crossed trained and understanding the multiple skills and responsibilities of each position.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

**Salary**: $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
