**Expected Goals**

As a Manager, you will be an integral part of our team. You will work on various challenging and exciting projects while working in the shop and visiting customers' properties. **ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**:(includes but not limited to)
**Leadership and team development**
- Train employees in equipment operation and landscape maintenance best practices.
- Planning ahead on staffing, equipment, and material needs for upcoming jobs - communicating needs to staff and internal Management.
- Reviewing the performance of jobs and identifying where improvements can be made through training or estimating accuracy.
- Review, help create and modify employee goals and monetary triggers
- Listen actively to staff issues and respond in a kind and insightful manner
**Manage workflow and staffing.**
- Supervise crew members and tasks while being an active member of the crew, including disciplinary action when required. Attention to detail and quality control is essential.
- Train staff respectfully and respond to training questions with respect and empathy.
- Coordinate, manage, and motivate the day-to-day activities of crew members.
- Field-level work as required to ensure workflows stay consistent.
- Scheduling your crews (2-5 crews consisting of 2-3 people each), using our software and systems.
- Be able to operate a variety of equipment to maintain lawns and grounds (i.e. riding mower, push mower, weed trimmer, hedge trimmer, etc.).
**Delegations/ Critical thinking/ Problem-solving**
- The first line of defence against problems with staffing or performance
- Fast-paced decision-making with an eye for safety and profit
- Set budgets for yearly staffing and adhere to budgeting dollars.
- Work weekends as needed to ensure projects are being completed within the promised timelines.
- Ensure leadership staff under you are managing staff in an efficient and kind manner.
**Prioritization**
- Ensure teams are performing accurate and detailed work that meets timelines.
- Always be looking to improve efficiencies to maintain and improve the amount of work teams can accomplish per day/ week.
**Continuous operational improvement**
- Attending internal meetings to stay up-to-date on projects and initiatives within the company - informing your team of any relevant information.
- Perform Equipment maintenance. Keep all machinery, vehicles, and facilities in top working condition.
**Enhance processes**
- Create/ modify/ improve/ train established and new SOP’s to ensure processes are being adhered to.
**Drive and enforce efficiency**
- Set expectations for quality and excellence with the landscape crews.
**Lead safety compliance**
- Managing and updating manuals, processes, workflow forms and deliverables
- Confirm and follow all Safety and OH&S regulations
- Ensure all staff below you are participating in and completing safety forms and requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance records are filled out and handed in accurately for maintenance staff.
