Agricultural Operator

Sylvite is a multinational, privately owned, business headquartered in Burlington Ontario providing critical products and services in the agricultural and transportation sectors.
- Agriculture - Sylvite provides a full supply chain solution for crop input products such as fertilizer, seed and pesticides.Transportation - The transportation group at Sylvite not only coordinates part of the agricultural supply chain, but also provides logistics services to a large customer base, transporting goods throughout Canada and the United States.

Primary Function:

- Responsible for supporting the operations of the branch/terminal in receiving, handling and shipping crop input products
- Encompasses experienced roles such as, Custom Fertilizer Applicator

Site Operations:

- Receive trucks (or railcars and vessels where applicable) of fertilizer, seeds, chemicals or other products
- Maintain professionalism and a customer service attitude towards customers or truck drivers when delivering or picking up products at the branch
- Load trucks with fertilizer
- Make fertilizer blends as directed by the sales team for customer pick-ups or deliveries
- Perform routine maintenance on loading and blending equipment
- Package fertilizer or other dry products as required
- Load packaged products with a forklift as required

Delivery/Pickup of Loads:

- Arrive at customer location at specified time.
- Maintain professionalism and a customer service attitude towards customers or truck drivers when delivering or picking up products at the branch.

Other Duties:

- Perform routine clean up and maintenance of the site
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations
- All PPE must be worn as required & prescribed
- All near miss, incidents, accidents & injuries must be reported to the Plant Supervisor immediately.
- Perform functions as requested by the relevant supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education, Experience and / or Training Requirements:

- Must have G License
- Must have DZ/AZ License - For Some Tasks
- Pesticide license is required - For Some Tasks
- 1+ year fertilizer blending experience
- 1+ year loading/unloading service experience
- Forklift certificate preferred

**Experience**:

- Farm or Agricultural: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- DZ Licence (preferred)
