Front of House Manager

Avling is a brewery, restaurant and urban farm in Toronto looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate individual to manage our Front of House operations. Avling aims to create exceptional experiences through our elevated and fun brand of hospitality and our food and beer that showcase Canadian flavours and seasonal and locally farmed ingredients.
As a FOH Manager, you will be a leader and steward for our FOH team and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operation of the restaurant and FOH staff while having a strong floor presence and maintaining the highest quality of service standards. The Manager should strive to 1) ensure employee satisfaction and create an enjoyable, productive, and fulfilling workplace environment and, 2) ensure that an exceptional and enjoyable guest experience is consistently delivered.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front of house department; manage the floor during service
- Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction
- Train, supervise, and motivate front of house staff
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and special requests
- Coordinate with the kitchen and events team to ensure smooth service and event execution; work with the kitchen, brewing and farm team to communicate and train employees on food, beer, and farm knowledge
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Create the FOH schedule and manage staffing levels for service; open and close the restaurant as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front of house area
- Implement policies and procedures
**Skills**:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant, bar, catering, hotel industries.
- Strong leadership and management skills; experience managing or supervising FOH teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of bartending techniques and beverage service; food service experience
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other restaurant software
Note: Knowledge of beer or breweries is a plus

**Salary**: $42,862.80-$66,218.04 per year
