**Summary of Role**:
The Inventory Planner provides analysis, executes processes, and utilizes business tools and metrics to ensure that the correct product is in the correct distribution centers and in the right quantities. They work closely with the merchandising, supply chain, and store operations to ensure connectivity between the sales plan and the inventory plan and to drive business strategies.

**Key Responsiblities**

**Inventory Planning & Analysis**
- Develop and manage DC/SKU level plans by utilizing tools and procedures within the replenishment system.
- Utilize the replenishment systems planning functionality to maximize product flow to achieve objectives.
- Performs SKU/DC level inventory analysis. Provide ad event analysis and recommendations. Provides defined and ad hoc business analysis and make recommendations based on findings.
- Analyze excess inventory; create and monitor action plans to minimize inventory liability.

**Inventory Procurement & Vendor Mgmt**
- Seek ways to maximize replenishment dollars while supporting sales opportunities.
- Perform lead-time forecasting analysis and manage receipt flow in alignment with company objectives.
- Develop and support supplier relationships through ongoing interactions.

**Purchase Order Maintenance**
- Accountable for the management of all open purchase orders. Tracks open POs to ensure on-time delivery at the DC.
- Prioritizes inbound POs to improve DC and Store inventory position. Closes aged purchase orders.

**Communication/Collaboration**
- The Inventory Planner collaborates with vendors to communicate forecast trends and drives business specific outcomes through inventory planning.
- Proactively communicates issues and recommends solutions. Develops and presents business updates that are tailored to the audience receiving them.

**Life cycle Management**
- Executes SKU level life cycle and transition strategies.
- Oversees inventory balancing functions and manages annual vendor returns.

**Continuous Learning**
- Eagerly learns new skills and capabilities to improve upon performance and drive value.

**Requirements**:
**Education** - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Mathematics

**Previous experience **- 2+ years business experience (Inventory, Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, or Retail experience preferred)

**Other requirements**:

- PC and Microsoft Office
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a high level of energy and initiative
