The Manager is responsible for proactively evaluating business opportunities and co-leading the formulation and execution of policy/process enhancements supporting the Small Business segment. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **Accountabilities** - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Support the development of segment strategies and initiatives to facilitate the development of risk-reward strategies that will drive growth in assets, revenue and/or profitability for the Small Business portfolio while maintaining an optimal risk-reward balance - Proactively identify growth opportunities that fit within the optimal risk/reward balance and make recommendations to Senior Management on initiatives to implement - Manage the implementation of initiatives, working with key stakeholders on recommendations, approvals, and communications to meet profitability goals - Monitor Risk KPI metrics to identify issues and opportunities to maximize revenue and grow profitable market share for the Small Business segment - Lead and support strategic projects, assisting with the development of strategic proposals and business cases that align with Small Business objectives across all delivery channels - Represents the business in cross functional initiatives to implement strategies and tactics that drive results across multiple Bank stakeholders - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have**: - Excellent understanding and knowledge of the Small Business, including policies and processes, servicing model, distribution channels and products - Thorough knowledge on a wide range of current market delivery systems, new and emerging technologies - Thorough understanding of Design Thinking and Agile methodologies - Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize a number of concurrent projects - Strong influencing and communication skills to influence all levels of the organization - Solid leadership skills with an ability to identify challenges, recommend options and solutions within specific timeframes - Excellent understanding of the Bank's informal/formal organization structure from both EO and field perspectives - Expert knowledge of branch operations, retail and small business environments including policies and processes **What's in it for you?** - The opportunity to join a forward-thinking and collaborative team, surrounded by innovative thinkers - A rewarding career path with diverse opportunities for professional development - Internal training to support your growth and enhance your skills - An inclusive working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success - Work in an Ecosystem; a bright, modern space where you’ll have access to group seating, offices, collaboration spaces, a cafeteria with different options daily, a bistro, and more Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
