**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree required, post graduate or diploma certification within an Occupational Health and Safety specialization is strongly preferred.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
- A minimum of two years' experience in a Safety Advocacy role.
- In depth understanding of legislative requirements; familiarity with Safety issues in a health care environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and facilitating safety initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and running joint Health & Safety committees.
- Knowledge of and expertise in implementing Health and Safety best practices.
- Detailed understanding and expertise in managing critical incidents; supporting effective accident investigation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong facilitation, conflict management and advocacy skills; proven experience in building partnerships with key decision makers.
- Communicates well with a cross section of employees and managers, both in writing and verbally, in presentations and one on one situations.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
