Project Commercial Manager

Due to continued growth and project success, we have a need for a Project Commercial Manager in our Vancouver office. As the senior commercial representative on the project, the duties will include:

- Commercial/Contractual Management for major infrastructure projects.
- Manage and ensure implementation of commercial processes and procedures to deliver key commercial requirements for the business and achieve continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the contractors ensuring that all relationships are professionally and appropriately managed to provide commercial services to the Client to agreed standards.
- Ensure effective commercial management of contracts with contractors to agree and certify payments; disallowed cost; contract changes; analysis, negotiation, and agreement of claims and settlement of final accounts.
- Lead commercial progress meetings with contractors.
- Support the resident engineering team and embed commercial practices and expertise on contracts and deliver a consistent approach for the management of commercial issues, ensuring that appropriate contemporaneous records are kept supporting commercial negotiations.
- Provide mentoring, training, and development to the resident engineering team on administrative duties and responsibilities under the works contracts.
- Project budget/expenditure forecasting.
- Management of change control on behalf of the Client.
- Subcontract procurement approval.
- Subcontract final account approval.
- Estimating/pricing of new/ additional scope.
- Report writing for change/governance.
- All other post-contract commercial requirements as necessary.
- In summary, the role is to satisfy the needs of our client at the project level, whilst corporately helping to develop Mott MacDonald’s hydropower capability.- 10+ years of professional experience with relevant commercial management, project management or engineering degree, and experience in the following disciplines:

- Contract Management / Contract Administration
- Commercial management / Claims management
- Cost control / Project budgeting
- Project Management
- Procurement
- Project planning
- Estimating

- Technically and commercially aware able to deliver on all post-contract service delivery and to solve problems.

- The ability to communicate internally and externally with senior stakeholders with strong networking and influencing skills.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience in administering contracts and commercial strategies aligned to business drivers and operational goals.
- The ability to operate within a commercially sound governance model.
