**Summary**:
This role is responsible for supervising the daily workflow of the assigned team and ensuring the correct reporting and analysis of the store margins and Beer/Wine area.
This includes periodic journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, monitoring of all inventory issues, training and implementation of new department procedures and annual performance appraisals.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Review historical margin rates by store and by department. Investigate any fluctuations from history to determine if entry errors were made and validate the corrections and adjustments made.
- Train all new and existing staff members in the proper use of financial systems, report production, financial information production, and position responsibilities as they relate to the margin system.
- Update and accurately implement procedural changes with staff to ensure comprehension and proper execution.
- Ensure daily functions are completed in the Margin Matching System (MMS).
- Calculate, validate, and adjust inventory results (Grocery, Perishable, Liquor, Starbucks, and Pharmacy).
- Monitor unmatched reports on a weekly basis and follow up with Coordinators to ensure current status.
- Respond to store inquiries about store charges, adjustments and credits affecting inventory results.
- Develop new reports including control reports as required.
- Monitor the Beer/Wine reporting area to ensure all weekly deadlines are met.
- Analyze and resolve LCBO inquiries relating to invoicing of beer and wine in our stores.
- Visit stores to review proper invoice entry procedures with assistant managers and bookkeepers.
- Resolve and reply to inquiries about store charges, adjustments and credits.
- Prepare and upload period end journals for the MMS department.
- Prepare periodic account reconciliations for MMS.
- Responsible for informing superior of any issues that may impact the workflow of the team.
- Provide reports and assistance for the annual external audit process.
- Maintain business relationships and meet established customer service standards.

**Qualifications**:

- College Diploma or University studies (certificate) in Accounting.
- 1 - 3 years related work experience.
- P.C. literate with intermediate Excel skills (including Macro usage) and Word.
- SAP, EXE and AS400 knowledge would be an asset
- Good understanding of margin accounting.
- Ability to learn and adapt to changes in work methods and systems.
- Strong analytical skills, Detail oriented, ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to manage performance of assigned work team.
