We are presently seeking energetic, highly motivated individuals to fill positions as Ophthalmic Assistants/Technicians.

Participate in all activities related to preliminary history taking, vision assessment, diagnostic testing (including, but not limited to OCT, angiography, retinal photography, visual field testing) and counselling patients for procedures.

You must be proficient in all roles in the eye procedure suite including prepping the patient, and assisting the surgeon as needed, including the ability to:

- Clean and sterilize relevant equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Perform interviewer-administered questionnaires
- Ensure accurate inventory of ophthalmic supplies
- Patient coordination and post-procedural care
- Manual data entry
- Patient education

- Customer service driven - focused on providing an exceptional patient experience
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure is a must to work in this fast-paced environment
- Flexibility regarding scheduling (early morning starts and late afternoon completion)
- Excellent written and communication skills required
- Successful and proven track record of working in teams
- Previous experience working in an ophthalmic medical practice preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing roles and requirements
- Excellence attendance and a record of punctuality
- Knowledge of EMRs and MS Office preferred
- Certified COA, COT or COMT preferred, but not necessary, can train.

**Experience**:

- Ophthalmology or Optometry: 2 years (preferred)
- Graduate from a Bachelor's program in science (BSc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT). New graduates are welcome, as are International Medical Graduates.
