As a rapidly growing school division in Alberta, Rocky View Schools (RVS) supports the educational needs of more than 27,000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 53 schools to ensure they learn, belong and succeed.

RVS is located on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy including the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani Nations; the Tsuut'ina Nation, the Stoney-Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley Nations; and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.

**Responsibilities**:
Provide educational and instructional leadership in the implementation of inclusive educational programming to meet the needs of diverse learners across the school division Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12

Lead the design and continued implementation of Pre-Kindergarten programming across Rocky View Schools

Lead the design, delivery of professional learning for pre-kindergarten programming, early childhood classrooms and elementary schools related to play, early literacy, teaching to diversity, differentiated instruction and assessment, supporting social emotional health and wellness

Consult and collaborate in monitoring and evaluating the provision of equitable access to evidence-based services and interventions across the division

Support inter-disciplinary teams with the consistent implementation of RVS’s continuum of supports and services designed to meet the social/emotional, behavioural, and academic needs of all students across the division

Support the equitable access and distribution of referrals, and alignment of multi-tiered services provided across the division for the purposes of service delivery accountability reporting

Establish positive working relationships and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams, with school-based teams, external agencies, and provincial associations and support services

Support Rocky View Schools' compliance with Alberta Education legislation and directives

Support the transition of students with additional needs coming into pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and grade one classrooms from the community

Review and assess divisional and school-based learning supports service delivery frameworks, specifically in primary and elementary schools, offer recommendations and support the collaborative implementation of changes

Ability to collaborate with divisional professionals, families and community agencies regarding issues that affect system processes

Understanding of Alberta Education provincial legislation and RVS divisional policies and practices

Understanding of documentation, Pupil File Guidelines and FOIP

Knowledge of the history of Inclusive Education in Alberta

Understanding of research related to educational change

Knowledge of medical, mental health and learning diagnoses and the implications for learning, programming and service delivery

Knowledge of diverse technologies to enhance programming

Familiar with system-wide implementation of complex medical supports, mental health supports, and positive behaviour interventions and supports

Deep knowledge and understanding of adolescent development, behaviour, mental health, social, emotional and academic learning needs

Experience implementing a range of strategies that promote positive behaviour, crisis intervention and family involvement and support in early childhood and elementary classrooms and schools

**Education/Experience**:
Bachelor of Education

Masters or PhD in inclusive education, psychology, counselling or related field

Minimum of five years' experience working with children, and families

Minimum of two years of leadership experience

Knowledge and experience in teaching and working with students with diverse social/emotional, behavioural and academic needs, particularly in early childhood

Experience in effective case management with a continuum of learning supports

Successful experience working in an educational setting with multi-disciplinary teams
