Safety and Training Coordinator

**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain current health & safety training material
- Facilitate new employee safety orientations and various additional health & safety training
- Development and arrangement of train-the-trainer internal programs and effective oversight of training program
- Maintain employee records and ensure training matrixes are valid and up to date
- Schedule training sessions as part of company initiatives and requirements
- Conduct scheduled workplace safety inspections including verification of completion of corrective action plans
- Prepare safety materials, documentation and data as needed for daily operations
- Assist with health and safety program to meet training requirements
- Maintain statistics and records to measure OHS performance
- Manage data entry and maintenance of safety documentation
- Work closely with and support JHSC and Safety department
- Support employees and management with safety concerns
- Be familiar with applicable legislation, regulations, and standards to maintain compliance
- Capably and confidently support investigation testing measures (i.e. breathalyzer, urinalysis)
- Travel in Ontario may be required
- Additional duties as assigned

**Technical Requirements**
- Three to five years of relevant safety experience in an industrial/unionized environment ideally within the manufacturing and/or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of legislated requirements in applicable jurisdictions
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
- Experience facilitating safety training (i.e. organizational specific fall protection, confined space, forklift, onboarding)
- Professional Safety designation (NCSO) would be considered an asset
