**Role -**
The Copywriter may work independently or collaboratively with Team members to develop conceptual ideas and creative platforms that are on strategy. The Copywriter is responsible for using their writing and referencing skills to enhance the Agency’s copy offerings to the Client. The Copywriter is responsible for understanding the copy platform for each assigned account. The Copywriter is expected to be one of the main writers on an account while maintaining consistent daily communication with their respective Associate Creative Director. The Copywriter will have the opportunity to prepare work for client presentations, as well as oversee and provide input on any work from Junior Copywriters.
**Responsibilities -**
- Demonstrate ability to create and develop conceptual work that is on strategy, with regular supervision
- Have understanding of basic marketing principles
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills, including medical topics and marketing copy
- Prepare work for Medical/Legal/Regulatory approvals, with an understanding of compliance with relevant regulations
- Demonstrate ability to accurately reference and annotate all work
- Understand and interpret medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brands
- Develop accurate and compelling materials for a variety of media including print, digital, broadcast, and experiential
- Work closely with editors to ensure accuracy in all work
- Develop knowledge of Client’s business—both the brand itself and people involved
- Work with suppliers and production to oversee the execution of their work, as required
- Interact daily and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
**Additional Responsibilities**
- Foster a positive team atmosphere and establish credibility internally and externally
- Ensure that all materials produced are accurate and represent agency well
- Uphold quality standards in servicing the Client
- Coming up with insightful, relevant, and objective driven ideas that build the brand’s presence and personality.
- A team player who is always open to collaborating to tackle rapid turnaround times, capture trending moments, and deliver and receive feedback, all while keeping a positive and proactive attitude towards content creation
**Qualifications**
- University degree, MSc or other postgraduate training an asset
- Knowledge, background, and/or interest in science and medicine
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare advertising writing, including HCP tactics
- Ability to understand data and clinical studies, and translate scientific concepts into persuasive marketing materials
- Strong knowledge of agency/copy/editorial process
- Passion for science and healthcare
- Copywriter portfolio, or “spec” portfolio demonstrating strong creative abilities
- Attention to detail and can work independently
- Familiarity with Canadian, US, and global regulatory requirements
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs.
