**FRONT** **DESK** **AGENT**
As the Front Desk Agent at The Squamish Adventure Inn, you will be the face and first point of contact of our Hostel, engaging with guests from all over the world and ensuring they have an exceptional stay. This multifaceted role involves the following key day-to-day responsibilities:
**JOB **DESCRIPTION**:
Customer Service & Check-ins/Check-outs:
- Provide outstanding customer service to guests - addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- As the face of the Hostel, you will act as a liaison between guests and Management to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues and/or complaints.
- Efficiently handle guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate record keeping, payment handling and explaining the Hostel’s rules and requirements.
- Suggesting activities and recommendations to guests, with a focus on our activity partners.
- Help generate positive reviews and direct bookings
- Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing merchandise display and reception area
- Rental Shop Operations:
- Manage the hostel's rental shop, including outdoor equipment (bikes, kayaks, SUPs, etc.)
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment pre/post rentals, ensuring safety and functionality.
- Assist guests in selecting appropriate gear based on their preferences and experience.
- Aiding in the facilitating of growing the rental fleet & overall offering.
- Housekeeping Support:
- Aid housekeeping department with daily tasks, including laundry and cleaning common areas.
- Collaborate with housekeeping to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for guests.
- Regularly tidy, clean and organize all common spaces throughout your shift.
- Social Media Management:
- Curate posts and stories relevant to the Hostel whilst staying within a predetermined framework.
- Reply to messages on the Hostel’s official accounts and interact with other local businesses

***COMPENSATION**:
We pay our entire team by the hour, not salary, and there’s a very good reason for this. Big businesses love Salaried jobs because it allows them to give the Management team tons of overtime and **not pay an extra dollar**. We compensate our team for every hour worked, every time they’re called, and we don’t force our team to sit at work when there’s nothing to do. We want you to go adventuring in Squamish
The Front Desk Agent starting salary begins at $20.00/hr and is reviewed annually. This is a career position with a small family-owned business
**WORK** **SCHEDULE**:
Permanent Full-Time (30-35 hours per week, usually around 35) and generally you’ll work 10am to 6pm (Thursday to Monday). You’ll have less competition on the trails and craigs on your days off
**JOB** **QUALIFICATIONS** **(GOTTA** **HAVES)**:
- Fluent English (speaking and writing). Extra languages are a bonus
- Extensive experience in a customer service role in the accommodation/hospitality world
- Criminal Background Check
- Basic computer skills
- Living in or willing to relocate to Squamish, BC - The Adventure Capital of Canada
- Valid work permit or Canadian citizen
- Valid Driver’s license and vehicle is a bonus
