**Overview**
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you support through personalized care and companionship.

**Reporting to**: Director of Care

**Scope of Position**:The Personal Support Worker shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
- Complete all assigned paperwork
- Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
- Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
- Assists and attends to care needs of the residents as required
- Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
- Supports the dietary department with serving support as required.
- Supports the housekeeping and laundry departments as required.
- Other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
Education/Experience:

- Previous experience in providing personal care
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Preferred post-secondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
- Must be able to read and communicate effectively
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carrying heavy items

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.30-$22.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- PSW: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
