Convergint is looking for an Application Specialist - BAS to join our amazing culture at our Calgary, AB. As the Application Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and control shop drawings related to the Building Automation Systems (BAS), to develop controller programming and create graphic packages for a wide range of projects with varying levels of complexity. The individual ensures all work complies with established quality standards and best practices, maintaining productivity, and meeting required project timelines.

**What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Create HVAC mechanical graphical backgrounds and develop controller programming, including point identification and database configuration. Perform mapping and binding of points to the graphical user interface
- Carries out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications, and contract, in order to determine and program on overall project requirements.
- Prepares databases and job-related programming and graphics for computer-based systems.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, contractors, partners, and vendors to manage and coordinate project execution to completion.
- Reviews formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
- Provide assistance with programing and graphics completion.
- Coordinates project schedule on all assigned projects; proactively communicates related project activities on a regular basis with Project Manager and seeks to continuously improve.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Adhere to and promote the Company’s health and safety procedures as well as ensuring Provincial and local regulations are followed.
- Always presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies in appearance and behavior and seeks opportunities to promote the services offered by the company.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

**What You’ll Need**
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Solid knowledge of principles and practices related to building automation systems.
- Previous exposure to any Graphical User Interface is required.
- Previous exposure to programming software is required.
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
- Must be a self-starter and work well
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid networking & IT skills (Building Automation primarily)

**Requirements**:

- Electrical, or Mechanical Trade preferred.
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years of previous experience
- Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: building automation, electronic security, fire alarm & life safety.
- Minimum of Two years of any Graphical User Interface experience.
- Minimum of One year of programming experience.
