CBC is currently seeking two Associate Producers, Audio, to work on the editorial team for CBC Books and its portfolio of projects.

CBC Books connects Canadians with books, encouraging a shared love of reading and writing through CBCBooks.ca, _Canada Reads_, the CBC Literary Prizes and audio programming.

Reporting to the Senior Producer, the Associate Producers will work on CBC Books’ weekly radio programs, participating in the creation of all the show’s elements, from conception to delivery. You will conceive, pitch, write scripts and edit interviews and features. You will also be responsible for administrative aspects of your assigned program: booking guests, lines and studios, ordering books and doing research. You will mix the show each week and deliver it on all platforms: CBC Radio, CBC Listen and various podcast platforms. You may create digital features based on audio programming and will work with the social and digital producers to deliver CBC Books content across a variety of platforms.

You have a keen sense of what works as audio storytelling. You have an audience-first mindset and are willing to adapt and try new things to reach new audiences. You respect metrics and use them to inform the kinds of stories and interviews you pitch, and how to package and promote them.You are mindful of ensuring that the content on our channels reflects and appeals to many different kinds of readers and the communities they represent.

CBC Books is a multi-platform, collaborative environment, one where producers are encouraged to follow their curiosity and learn on the job. While this position will primarily be on one of CBC Books’ radio programs, there will be an opportunity to contribute to social and digital, cover awards and festivals, as well as have other opportunities within our audio portfolio.

Key tasks
- Under the direction of the Senior Producer:_- Chases, produces and edits interviews and features for CBC Books’ audio programs- Handles administrative tasks of a weekly radio show, including booking guests, lines and studios, ordering books, logging music and content tracking- Mixes and delivers radio programs to all platforms: CBC Radio, CBC Listen and external podcast platforms- Participates in story idea generation for all CBC Books platforms: audio, digital and social- Collaborates with digital and social teams from the pitch process to final delivery to ensure a multi-platform storytelling experience- Writes and packages digital stories based on CBC Books audio features as assigned

Qualifications
- You possess the following:_- Audio storytelling and production experience, including chasing, writing and editing. Experience with Dalet is an asset- A love of books and reading.
