ABOUT THE ROLE
WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
**Content & Social Media Coordination**:

- Develop and implement social media for SOCAN Francophone accounts and manage daily engagement
- Work closely with Anglophone social media team to develop a bilingual coverage strategy
- Social media support during special SOCAN events (SOCAN Gala & Awards, songwriting camps) in Québec and Toronto. Limited travel is required
- Monitor Québec industry and SOCAN member accounts, looking for opportunities to connect and celebrate
- Manage, and maintain a quarterly social content calendar in collaboration with Anglophone social media team
- Publish content for SOCAN’s online channels, including social media, Words & Music/Paroles & Musique Magazine, and other communication platforms to increase brand awareness and engagement
- Participate in content and editorial meetings with Membership stakeholder groups. (e.g., Creative, Education & Programming.)
- Attend events such as album launches, performances, festivals and other music events to support and celebrate our members on social media. Be prepared to cover events and news items as appropriate
- Develop strategies for audience engagement and growth across all platforms.

**Content Creation—Video and Graphic Design**:

- Support multimedia specialist in research, video capture and editing and subtitling of interviews or other video production needs as required to ensure we are effectively communicating SOCAN activities
- Graphic design support for SOCAN event invitations, physical and digital banners, SOCAN Gala Program, social media visuals, presentation materials, etc
- Provide photo sets for the SOCAN magazine, social media, and the internal site
- Responsible for photo and video archiving.

**General Communication & Marketing Support**:

- Update of a musical release and events schedule to support and facilitate the meetings of the editorial committee of P&M magazine
- Responsible for the inventory and schedule of use of SOCAN banners and SOCAN promotional items
- Collaborate with internal clients and C&M team on ideas for promotional materials and merch items
- Assist with coordinating logistics associated with special events, trade shows, and so forth, and liaise with vendors (e.g., Designer) in the execution of marketing events, materials, etc

**Media Relations**:

- Send press releases to local music media contacts and coordinate interview requests

WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Secondary education in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or other related field
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Photography experience or demonstrated interest
- Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role
- Proven track record of social media, graphic design and video editing excellence
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and spoken
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills
- Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Creative writing skills an asset
