**ROLE DESCRIPTION**

Job Title: Financial Aid Officer

Reports to: Student Services Supervisor

Campus Location: Cobourg

Hours of work: 9:00am to 5:00pm

**Summary**: The purpose of the **Financial Aid Officer **is to assist prospective and current students through the process of acquiring financial assistance while promoting the best customer experience. This includes providing financial and administrative reporting to the Student Services Supervisor.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Hold initial finance meetings with students to determine payment option choices
- Follow up with students to ensure all proper documentation is uploaded in a timely manner, in accordance with student start date
- Provide student finance management for new and existing students (All funding types and OSAP process in its entirety)
- Bi-weekly check point/stitch in meetings
- Work with funders to secure approvals and provide periodic reports as required
- Manage scheduled payments into CC for new and existing students
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years administrative experience
- Experience in finance/accounting
- Proficient knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs, Zoom, Docusign
- High level organizational skills for meetings and follow ups

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- Highly organized
- Tact and Professionalism
- Detail oriented
- Excellent ritten and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, while maintaining accuracy, efficiency and quantity of deliverables
- Sales experience not required but considered an asset

**Education**:

- Minimum post-secondary diploma or equivalent
- FAO certification (or on-site training provided)

- 8 hour shift
