**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Program Manager and working under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse and Recreation Therapist, the Therapeutic Assistant assists in the provision of health, health promotion and therapeutic services to the rehabilitation population. The Therapeutic Assistant will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary team in carrying out the individual's treatment program and communicating patient specific information that will enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team. The Therapeutic Assistant may be required to work throughout the QEII site.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Grade XII plus completion of year one from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation program which includes the Therapeutic Recreation Foundations Course
- Current CPR certification is required
- Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
- Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
- Experience in working with people with acquired brain in jury an asset
- Behaviour Modification Skills
- Leisure/Recreation related knowledge and skills to support patient rehab care plans
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary rehab team approach
- Understanding of patient populations with cognitive impairment and/or responsive behaviors
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Compensation and Benefits**:
$23.56 - $26.36 Hourly
