Together, we contribute to the success of one of the fastest growing and largest publicly traded, pure play renewable power platforms in the world while supporting decarbonization and greater energy sustainability to facilitate the global transition to a net-zero. **About the Role** Reporting to the Director, Payroll, the Manager, Payroll will manage a team of Payroll Specialists who process and distribute payrolls for 1,200+ employees in North America. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage the team that is responsible for processing, and distribution of Canadian and US payrolls (20+ total pay groups). - Manage and maintain timely compliance for payroll, legal and tax reporting filings. - Understand the link between payroll and finance and collaborate closely with finance team on any issues. - Respond to information requests and assist in the implementation of key initiatives impacting payroll, including acquisitions of new assets/employees. - Act as liaison with HRIS vendor to address and resolve issues and discrepancies. - Manage and lead the payroll team by training and developing the Payroll Specialists and ensuring cross training. - Continuously review and improve processes and procedures. - Other duties as required. **Knowledge and Experience Required** - Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage a large number of payrolls while working under tight deadlines. - Proven track record of collaborating and working with both internal and external stakeholders. - Flexible and adaptable: willing and able to change priorities to achieve team objectives. - Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and sound judgment. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Minimum of six (6) years of experience in Canadian and US payroll for both union and non-union employees; with a minimum of 3 years in management. - A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with payroll certification considered an asset. - Experience working in a public and/or fast growth company. - Strong knowledge of both Canadian and US payroll practices. Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 3 days to perform most effectively.
