**What’s the ask?**

The **Benefits Specialist, Custom Solutions** is responsible for developing tailored solutions for prospects and clients in collaboration with the Business Development and Benefits teams. These solutions take many forms ranging from critical evaluation of the current programs and providers in place, support through changes, and customized communications in the client brand to support critical employee messages. In addition to developing solutions for our clients and prospects, this position will also support the business development activity through the creation of documents that support the sales cycle and describe the value our team can bring based on the unique needs of each prospect.

The **Benefits Specialist** duties will include, but are not limited to:
**Marketing and Communications**
- Prepare and/or peer review employee communications;
- Create, document, update responses for Request for Proposal (RFP) consulting services;
- Responsible for consistency and correct use of brand identity and voice according to brand guidelines both internally and externally
- Development of marketing pieces to assist with the sales process

**Client Service**
- Manage client block load of varying complexities for our Global Benefits Clients/Prospects.
- Prepare specifications for marketing;
- Coordinate carrier finalist presentations;
- Accountable for the smooth transition of benefits to new carriers, ensuring any client risk and exposure is mitigated (i.e. plan mapping, member coverage, communication);
- Prepare and/or peer review benefits summaries;
- Review contract, booklet and collective agreement differences and identify risk exposure;
- Prepare and/or peer review employee survey questionnaire and presentations;
- Assist on specific projects, initiatives and research
- Accountable for preparation of all financial aspects including, renewals, quote comparisons, amendment pricing and financial reporting with support as required from the Senior Underwriter, Custom Solutions
- Perform commission reconciliations and analysis;
- Analysis of financial and/or plan design benchmarking and preparation of reports/presentations;
- Conduct and/or peer review employee presentations.

**What does it take?**
- Demonstrated experience in the Group Benefits industry and asset
- Individual Agent License (LLQP) and/or willing to work towards within one year;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficient in written/spoken French an asset.
