- **Job Description**_

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you can **demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of heavy equipment operations** including loading various materials such as earth, rock, contaminated soil, etc. into trucks for removal, disposal, and/or transport and can operate equipment as it applies to loading trucks, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, hauling, etc. **Good communication skills** for the ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, etc. in a courteous, professional manner and maintaining a **positive attitude** at all times.
- **Qualifications & Requirements**_ _(not limited to)_
- Minimum 1 year experience with pipeline trenching, digging near live pipe, and intergrity digs.
- Ability to follow direction and attention to detail
- Must follow industry and company polices, safe work practices & procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, labour-intensive environment
- Must be willing to work outdoors in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
- Valid Safety and/or Operator Tickets an asset (i.e., H2S Alive, CSTS, OSSA Fall Protection, OSSA Confined Space and Standard First Aid with CPR, Skid Steer Operator Certificate, etc.)
- Previous oil & gas construction and maintenance experience an asset
- Ensure proper attachment is used, i.e., digging bucket, wrist twist, etc.
- Conduct a pre-operational equipment inspection checklist before operating (mechanical & safety inspections) and perform necessary maintenance and repairs
- Report all incidents, near-misses and damage of the equipment to site supervision
- Ability to identify hazards
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary
