If you are a results-oriented individual dedicated to safety, the District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (DNVFRS) is looking to fill the position of Fire Inspector, Public Safety Inspections & Investigations.

Reporting to the Captain - Public Safety, Inspections & Investigations, this is regulatory work related to the enforcement of Municipal, Provincial and Federal fire prevention codes, standards and related bylaws. You have solid knowledge of prevention practices and methods gained through related training and experience. Preference may be given to those with a Fire Prevention Inspector Certificate from the Justice Institute or equivalent, and other courses relating to public safety and community risk reduction.

**Minimum Qualifications for Public Safety Lieutenant Rate**:
A Fire Inspector who has worked in the Public Safety Division for a minimum of one (1) year and who has successfully completed the required courses/certificates will be paid at the rate of a Public Safety Lieutenant. Current course requirements are:

- Local Assistant to Fire Commissioner
- Office of the Fire Commissioner
- NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level II - NFPA CFI-II or IFSAC/Pro Board
- NFPA 1033 Fire Investigation Level I and II- JIBC or Pro-board
- BC Fire Code Part 1 & 2- JIBC or BCIT
- BC Building Code Part 3- BCIT
- Course equivalency may be established by the Fire Chief for any of the courses listed above._
