The Impact You’ll Make:
An Executive Committee leadership role that will lead and collaboratively work alongside department leaders to operate and oversee The Westin’s day-to-day operation. This individual will be responsible for working within and maintaining budget, ensuring adherence to brand standards while ensuring owner and guest satisfaction. This individual will help grow our culture through our guiding principles and taking genuine care and interest in our associates well being. Position Requirements:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the hotel
- Facilitate Brand and Service Excellence (BASE) courses for new and existing associates.
- Build strong relationships with hotel owners, associates & guests
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies to ensure financial and operational success according to company objectives
- Active participant in the preparation of the annual hotel budget
- Monitor performance of hotel through review of processes, analysis of financial reports, guest satisfaction & GXP dashboards and pivot strategies where needed
- Maintain and ensure Westin brand and service quality standards are met
- A champion of hotel culture; is approachable, leads by example, contributes regularly to the engagement, motivation and success of all managers and associates
- Possesses a high level of self-awareness, honesty and integrity
- Ensures a strong collaborative interdepartmental relation across all teams (Sales, Events, Banquets, Front Office, Culinary, Finance, Housekeeping, Engineering, Restaurants, Loss Prevention)
- Is creative, a critical thinker, challenges status quo and is open to new ideas, processes to drive guest satisfaction & company objectives
- Coordinates and facilitates regular department leader meetings
- Conducts annual review and quarterly dialogues with direct reports
- Evaluates and monitors all training of associates in safe work practices according to British Columbia safety standards and WorkSafe BC
- All other duties as assigned
General Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Hotel/Hospitality Management or the equivalent is preferred
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check
Skills & Experience:
- Previous Marriott experience a bonus, not required
- Demonstrates Self-awareness in all aspects of leadership
- Maintain and develop strong relations with customers, owners, guests and associates
- Strong organizational, planning, and execution skills
- Previous experience in a similar role, similar size/type of property
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Passion for leading a Team and is collaborative
