As a **Primary Consultant** with Children's Autism Services of Edmonton you will be part of a talented transdisciplinary team working with children and families. You will work with the family to provide support and coaching in natural routines. The coach provides a breadth of knowledge and ability to help family generalize strategies throughout their daily life.

**Role Description**:

- Develop a trusting relationship with families
- Work collaboratively and provide coaching and direct support to target goals identified as priorities by the family
- Support family to break down goals and daily routines into action plans
- Collaborate with Clinical Consultants in a transdisciplinary model
- Create a service plan document with family
- Consult to families in both home and school environments
- Maintain records and documentation
- Liaise with Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD)
- Connect families with community resources
- Participate in ongoing staff development
- Manage a caseload of families as assigned by Program Coordinator
- Conduct home visits based on family need
- Monitor progress and coordinate programs to make sure family’s need are met
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Director of Clinical Services

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program or Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the related field
- Must be proficient in written and oral skills.
- Strong advocacy skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Creative problem solver and team player
- Experience working with children with autism
- Strong leadership
- Ability to work flexible hours including early evening hours.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must have a criminal records check with vulnerable sector check, child intervention check
- First Aid with CPR Level C within 3 months of hire
- Safe Management Training will be provided within 3 months of hire
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle, and willingness to travel to different locations throughout Edmonton and area
