**About This Opportunity**:
Mayflower Medical Clinic is seeking a family physician to join this well-established group practice made up of five experienced physicians and support staff. The clinic is integrated on an electronic medical record (EMR) system and there is no on call requirement. Conveniently located off the 102 highway near Kearney Lake area just outside of downtown Halifax, the clinic provides a collegial and supportive work environment.
**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
**Expected Hours**:
Full time 1.0 FTE
**Qualifications**:
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
