Casual Uniform Technician

**Job Purpose**:
The Uniform Technician is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service in the distribution, care, maintenance and fitting of all Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) uniforms.

**Responsibilities**:

- Retrieve and distribute uniforms to Casino employees.
- Scan incoming and outgoing uniforms in uniform inventory software system.
- Retrieve uniforms for cleaning from the laundry bin.
- Separate uniforms for in-house cleaning and dry-cleaning.
- Scan tag of uniform garments being shipped out for dry-cleaning or Central Services laundry in uniform inventory software system.
- Sort garments for Central Services cleaning based on department procedures and washing instructions.
- Conduct a physical count of uniforms being returned from cleaners/Central Services, and match to laundry docket.
- Scan tag of uniforms coming in from cleaners/Central Services.
- Return clean uniforms to appropriate employee slots in the conveyor.
- Perform visual inspections of cleaning equipment prior and after use and notify Supervisor of any concerns.
- Advise Supervisor of department supply requirements.
- Log employee complaints pertaining to uniforms, and any issues relating to the self-serve conveyor.
- Ensure uniforms are maintained in the proper areas and slots in the conveyor.
- Assign employee lockers in the change room. Audit locker assignment on an annual basis or as required.
- Conduct audit of clothing slots, to ensure records are maintained.
- Conduct a visual inspection of clothing articles that need to be replaced or discarded.
- Wash, dry, and press uniforms and other items as required.
- Clean counters and floors.
- Shut down equipment (night shift).
- Assist supervisor with inventory, receiving, verifying and storing uniforms and supplies.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Primary Qualifications**:

- Grade 10 or acceptable level of education and experience.
- WHMIS GHS certification, which will be acquired on the job.
- Level I training in sewing and alterations will be acquired on the job.
- Previous training in sewing to assist with repairs and alterations of garments is an asset.
- Basic computer experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in customer service and laundry is an asset.

**Vacation**
