Job Title: Capital Accounting Analyst

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reports to: Manager, Capital Accounting & Materials Management

**_This position is for a 12 month term with the high likelihood of conversion to a full time, permanent position._**

**Purpose**:
The Capital Accounting Analyst will be responsible for operational analysis and reporting, general accounting, invoicing and accounting administrative support functions specific to the capital and operational program for Canadian and US operations (Incl. Drilling, Completions, Facilities, Development and Environmental groups).

**Main Responsibilities & Activities**:

- Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting on capital spending for analysis and review
- Responsible for month end accruals and analysis
- Perform operational and cost analysis on wells in order to provide information on supplemental AFE's for the capital engineering groups as well as recommendations for cost efficiencies.
- Management of material transfers and inventory related to capital
- Perform journal entry cost movements
- Assist with financial reporting, capital analysis, audit, and any other special projects as required
- Assist with developing processes and procedures that adhere to corporate policies, internal accounting controls as well as PASC requirements
- Review and provide proper coding and approval for capital spend related invoices and ensure that invoices meet all internal and accounting requirements.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Post-secondary education is required
- Minimum 5-8 years of operational and/or capital accounting, cost control or related experience is required
- Oil and gas experience related to drilling, completions or facilities is required
- Experience in using Qbyte, Open Invoice, AFE Navigator, Power BI, Siteview & Wellview would be an asset
- Strong Microsoft Office skills are required with superior proficiency in Excel
- High attention to detail with strong oral and written communication
- Self-starter, must be well organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize various initiatives
- Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to the teams goals
