**JOB TITLE: Laser NC Setup Operator**

**DEPARTMENT: Fabrication**

**REPORTS TO: Laser Supervisor**

**SCHEDULE: (Please confirm which shift you can work)**
- **(A)Saturday & Sunday 7:30 am - 6:00 pm**:

- **(B) Saturday & Sunday 6:00 pm - 4:30 am**

***:This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more CNC laser or plasma cutting machines. Including assistance with other CNC operators for their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.

Our facilities specialize in precision CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and coating. We are AS9100 Rev C certified. With a continued investment in cutting-edge machinery, we are looking for operators to match. This Laser Setup Operator position will report to the Supervisor of the Department and will be responsible for the setup and operation of the Mazak OPTIPLEX 3015 FIBER III by performing the following duties.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Setting up and operating the Mazak OPTIPLEX 3015 FIBER III Lasers
- Stage materials at each work center for the day’s production for loading and unloading.
- Ensure the production schedule is followed as allocated by the scheduling department.
- Facilitate work instructions and quality standards following AS9100 Rev C standards.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area under company standards and manufacturer machine recommendations.
- Perform machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
- Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
- Maintain daily dust collector service and associated logbook in assigned areas and report equipment deficiencies.
- Perform daily machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Other duties assigned by Lead/Supervisor or Management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3 or more years of experience setting up CNC fiber laser machines. Working on brands such as Mazak and Amada is asset.
- Previous manufacturing experience - ideally in metal fabrication
- Demonstrated ability to read drawings.
- Knowledgeable to identify various sheet metal materials and gauges
- Ability to learn or have some working knowledge of NC machine code.
- Ability to work well as a team member.
- Understanding and supporting EM Dynamics company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience inspecting flat laser/plasma cut parts with precision inspection equipment is an asset

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 - 50 lbs frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Sit, stand and walk for 1 - 10 hours per day.
- Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
