Working in a collaborative environment, the **Finishing Team Lead (Afternoon Shift) **is responsible for managing the Finishing department in addition to prepping the product to go into painting, making sure the product is sanded, filled and stained ready for the next step (sealing, first coat, topcoat, stain & paint).
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensuring quality within the process of the finishing department team
- Understanding, how to prep surfaces for paint, stain or clear
- Ability to delegate work within the team and relaying priorities/tasks from management to the team
- Using equipment like hand sanders (multiple types), spray guns, and small hand tools. Maintain all company provided tools and equipment
- Making QUALITY job #1
- Teamwork, learning and teaching everyday
- Keep a positive can-do attitude, always bring solutions to the table with the challenges
- Receive and give constructive feedback
- Approve time sheets for the department in Seradex (ERP)
- Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times (we are committed to you going back to your loved ones every night)
- Perform other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required, and the work does not exceed own limitations
- Maintain a clean working area free from sawdust and debris between tasks and at end of day
- Always completing tasks 100%, flagging things with supervisors and managers to make sure things are completed
**YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:
- 2-3 years’ experience in carpentry finishing
- Quality Focused - Attention to detail is critical
- Effective Problem-Solving Skills, a can-do attitude
- Time Management
- Creative and Innovative Thinker while working to customer specifications
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety Procedures
**EDUCATION**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
